Khác với Creative Director (chief visionary toàn brand) — Fashion Art Director focus concrete visual output: campaign, lookbook, editorial, show. Họ direct photographer, stylist, set designer, post-production để biến concept thành hình ảnh cụ thể.
Fashion Art Director (Giám đốc mỹ thuật thời trang) là người chịu trách nhiệm visual direction cho output truyền thông của brand thời trang. Họ work với (1) fashion brand (in-house): Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Phương My, Công Trí; (2) magazine: Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, ELLE; (3) agency: BureauBetak, Doubleday & Cartwright. Phân loại theo specialty: Campaign Art Director, Editorial Art Director, Runway Art Director, E-commerce Art Director.

Fashion Art Director — kiến trúc visual identity
Fashion AD dẫn dắt visual production cycle. Báo cáo cho Creative Director / Editor-in-Chief / Brand Director. Oversee: Designer/Stylist team, Photographer + crew, Production team, Retoucher. Phối hợp với: Marketing/PR, E-commerce, Social media. Mỗi season có 4–6 major campaign (RTW SS, FW, Pre-fall, Resort, Cruise + holiday) — AD cycle qua: concept (4 tuần) → pre-production (4 tuần) → shoot (1–5 ngày) → post (3–6 tuần) → release. Năm tổng: 10–20 major project + ongoing daily output.
Bắt đầu từ yêu cầu từ Creative Director: collection theme + season message. AD develop visual interpretation: mood (dark moody, light bright, futuristic, romantic), setting (studio, outdoor, abandoned location, surreal), color palette, prop, casting yêu cầu. Build mood board 30–80 reference image. Pitch lại Creative Director — 2–3 round revise.

Lead diverse team (photographer ego, stylist opinion, brand exec). Communicate clearly visual intent (verbal + reference). Give góp ý kindly nhưng decisive. Defend creative choice tới brand. Take responsibility khi shot fail.
Hands-on tool: Photoshop (composite mockup), InDesign (lookbook layout, presentation), Illustrator (graphic element). Mood board cần curate gọn (use Milanote / Are.na / Pinterest pro). Presentation deck — clear, brand-fit.
Hiểu cost: photographer day rate, model rate, location, props, post. Concept phải feasible trong budget. Negotiate cleverly. Learn from past project — what blew budget, what saved.
